Ouija Boards

The Talking Board became a very popular tool for mediums in the late 1800's during the big spiritualist movement in America. As a way for spiritualists of the day to commune with the dead, but was widely used to con unsuspecting customers out of their money. In 1901 Willaim Fuld began production on the talking boards, branding them with the name Ouija. In the 1960's Parker Brother's purchased the rights to this board game which they still hold to this day. Between 1901 and the 1970's Ouija Boards were a pretty common novelty item found in most American households. Strangely enough every person you speak with nowadays knows someone who knows someone who's had a negative experience with a Ouija Board. There have even been silly rumors that have popped up over the years which say you have to burn it or bury it to truly get rid of it, rather than to just toss it in the trash. Heres something to ponder, If they're so dangerous how come anyone can go down to their local Target or Toy's "R" Us and buy one?

Our questions to you are.

Have you ever used one?
Did you or someone you know have a negative experience with one?
Is it direct link the Devil?
Do you think its all in the power of suggestion?
Do you think certain people are more susceptible to the Ouija board than others?

There is term called the Ideomotor Effect

The ideomotor effect refers to the influence of suggestion or expectation on involuntary and unconscious motor behavior. The movement of pointers on Ouija boards, of a facilitator's hands in facilitated communication, of hands and arms in applied kinesiology, and of some behaviors attributed to hypnotic suggestion, are due to ideomotor action. -The skeptics Dictionary

The one thing to remember is that the human brain is a very powerful tool. It can work with you or against you.
